Ghelamco Group signs this year’s first major lease agreement on Poland’s office market
Ypres, 18 January 2010 – Ghelamco Group announces today that it has signed a leasing agreement with the international sportsware manufacturer Nike for the rent of 1,900 m² of office space in the Group’s recently completed Crown Square office building. This agreement is set to become this year’s benchmark lease agreement for the Polish capital.
The lease agreement with Nike is valid for a period of six years. “Nike will occupy 1,900 m² on two floors in Crown Square. This agreement makes Nike the biggest tenant in the building”, says Jarosław Zagórski, Ghelamco Group’s Commercial and Business Development Director for Poland. He adds: “We are currently negotiating agreements for another 8,000 m², which means that we can expect Crown Square to be completely let by the end of this year.”
Ghelamco Group will obtain Crown Square’s occupancy permit in the middle of February. Located near Rondo Daszyńskiego, Crown Square is one of only a few class A office buildings in the centre of Warsaw. Ghelamco Groupo completed the building’s construction despite the market slowdown in accordance with the original schedule. Crown Square offers 17,000 m² of modern office space on 13 above ground floors. Its design is based on modern technical solutions to improve tenants comfort, such as optimized daylight access through its fully glazed facade. It has an underground parking garage with 227 parking bays. The ground floor level offers retail and service spaces for cantines and kiosks. Crown Square completes the Crown investments complex, that also includes Crown Point and Crown Tower. Crown Square’s first tenant, GATX Rail Poland, will move into the building in the middle of February and will occupy 1,000 m².
