The Artevelde Stadium complex is a major, multifunctional modern project that consists of the following elements:

  • a 20,000 seater, eco and environment friendly football stadium, with business seats, skyboxes, restaurants and other catering facilities, 14,000 mē of office space and 9,000 mē of retail space. It features a 600 m long, eight m wide circular that offers unparallelled catering and hosting opportunities,
  • two ten floor buildings with 28,000 m² of additional office space, with direct access to underground parking,
  • 12,000 m² of retail space, to be occupied by a major destination store,
  • a 260 rooms hotel that will also accommodate longer stay guests,
  • 1,500 underground parking bays

The Artevelde Stadium will be Belgium's first football stadium in compliance with UEFA requirements and will be evidence of a particular focus on attractive and open architecture, combining esthetics and functionality.


The Artevelde Stadium complex will be easily accessible, as it will be built at the intersection of the E17 and E40 motorways and the R4 ring road. Enhanced public transport access is a major priority.


Construction works have started at the multifunctional project and are scheduled for completion in 2012.
